The TruAudio TRU-S500DSP is a mono subwoofer amplifier with DSP and 500 watts of output power. It is compact (only 4,5cm high and 26,4cm deep), remote-controllable (remote is included) and offers chinch- as well as XLR-inputs (more information about connection options see chapter "Getting connected and set-up").
This power amplifier is build with an analogue class AB-circuit and contains a mighty toroidal core power-supply (unlike most plate amplifiers in active subwoofers that use switch-mode power supplies).
The built-in DSP allows a steep cut-off with up to 48dB per octave (standard recommendation is to use 24dB per octave). This ensures the subwoofer only plays the bass notes.
Set-up of the module is done either via remote or a knob directy at the device in conjunction with the LC-display.
The device contains a 12V trigger remote power-on option, that allows to turn the amp on and off automatically via 12V signal (if supported by your main amp/pre-amp). In addition it offers automatic power-on/off via signal, so it turns on when a bass signal is delivered and turns off after a certain time that can be defined in the set-up menu.
The TruAudio TRU-S500DSP is the ideal partner for the ModalAkustik MusikBass subwoofer.
